On July 23, 2026, Patrol Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the 100 Block of Airport Road in Pineville.  Upon arrival, deputies determined a large amount of items had been stolen and Sheriff’s Detectives from the Tioga substation responded and began their investigation. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

From their investigation, Sheriff’s Detectives were able to recover forensic evidence which led them to the Rigolette area. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Later the same day, Detectives and Patrol Deputies were conducting pro-active patrols in the Rigolette area on Hickory Hill Road where a male and female were seen riding a green Honda ATV.  A traffic stop was conducted and detectives were able to identify the ATV as one that was allegedly stolen from the 3000 block of Rigolette Road approximately one week before. Both suspects on the ATV were detained pending further investigation.  After confirmation from the victim, Ryan Tylor McGlothlin was taken into custody without incident transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was  booked for illegal possession of stolen things $5000-$25,000.  The female was released.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

As their investigation continued, detectives were able to identify two other suspects in the thefts as Eric Paul Nichols and Conner Ray Coker. From their investigation, Detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause for arrest warrants to be issued for Nichols and Coker for their roles in the theft investigation.  Detectives were also able to establish sufficient probable cause to obtain warrants on McGlothlin who remained in jail on the original arrest.  <\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

On July 24, 2026, McGlothlin was re-arrested on the additional charges and bond was set at $326,000.00.  McGlothlin remains in jail at the time of this release.  <\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

On July 27, 2026, as detectives continued their search for the two remaining suspects, Nichols turned himself in to Sheriff’s Detectives and was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was booked on the outstanding warrants.  Bond was set at $175,000 and Nichols was released on bond on August 4, 2026.  <\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

On July 27, 2026, Coker was located and, after a brief standoff with RPSO SWAT and Detectives, was taken into custody without further incident in the 4400 block of Northup Road in Pineville.  Coker was transported and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on the outstanding warrants.  Coker remains in jail at the time of this release being held on a $410,000 bond as well as a hold for active warrants through the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office and a hold for Louisiana State Probation and Parole. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

In mid July, Corrections Security Investigators informed agents with the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit about the possibility of a Deputy assigned to DC-1 bringing in various types of contraband to inmates. Anonymous information was provided that identified Deputy Cedric Allen, Jr. , 20 of Alexandria, was allegedly bringing in tobacco, Marijuana, Synthetic Marijuana, and sheets of paper infused with a synthetic spray commonly referred to as “K2 paper” that inmates request and pay for. Through their joint investigation, Correction’s Security Investigators and RADE Agents learned that Allen, Jr. would be introducing contraband into DC-1 on his next night shift which was on July 23rd, 2026. Once Allen, Jr. arrived for his shift, his belongings were searched and rolling papers were found in his back pack, which is considered contraband in a correctional environment. An open air sniff by a RADE Narcotics K-9 was conducted around the exterior of Allen, Jr’s vehicle and a positive alert for narcotics was detected. A search of the interior of his vehicle revealed two black latex gloves twisted tightly both containing suspected narcotics, which is a common way to smuggle contraband. A search warrant was then conducted at Allen, Jr.’s residence where RADE Agents located Marijuana, two rifles and four sheets of paper believed to be K2 paper. Cedric Allen, Jr. was placed under arrest without incident and booked into DC-1 for Malfeasance in Office, Introducing Contraband into a Penal Facility, Criminal Conspiracy, Possession of CDS 1 (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS 1 (Synthetic Analogs) with Intent to Distribute, and two counts of Illegal Carrying of a Firearm with Drugs. Cedric Allen, Jr. a three month employee, was also terminated upon his arrest. In June of 2026, Agents with the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit began receiving anonymous community complaints in reference to possible narcotic activity in the 3800 block of Howard Street in the Martin Park Subdivision.  As the complaints grew, Agents began their investigation and were able to identify two subjects that lived at the residence. <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Over the next several weeks, RADE Agents conducted surveillance and used other investigative techniques to obtain a search warrant for the residence of Tavis Shante Sanders and Shini Latorycree Jones at 3823 Howard Street, Alexandria, LA.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Due to the nature of the investigation and strong indicators the suspect would have access to weapons, RPSO SWAT was called to assist in the operation and to execute the search warrant.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Just before 8PM on July 1, 2026, RPSO SWAT along with RADE Agents executed the search warrant on Howard Street where Sanders, Camille Boyd, and Anthony Dorsey were present at the time of warrant service and were detained.  Located in the residence was approximately ½ pound of powder Heroin, approximately 1 ½ pounds of Black Tar Heroin, just under 2 pounds of powder Cocaine, 23 grams of Marijuana, two handguns and an AR style pistol.  Agents also located over $12,000.00 in assorted U.S. currency and several items of drug paraphernalia.  Shini Jones arrived at the house shortly after the house was secured and was also detained. <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Through their investigation, Agents placed all four suspects under arrest and they were transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where they were booked on their charges.   <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Sanders was booked for two counts Possession of CDS I (Powder Heroin and Black Tar Heroin) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS II (Powder Cocaine) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS I (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute, three counts of Illegal Carry of Firearms with Drugs, three counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses.  Sanders was also issued a Civil Asset Forfeiture Form for the seized cash.  Sanders remains in jail at the time of this release being held on a $1,100,000.00 bond.<\/p>\r\n

Jones was booked for two counts of Possession of CDS I (Powder Heroin and Black Tar Heroin) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS II (Powder Cocaine) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS I (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute, and three counts of Illegal Carry of Firearms with Drugs. Jones remains in jail being held on a $700,000.00 bond.<\/p>\r\n

Dorsey was booked for Possession of CDS II (Powder Cocaine).   He was released on July 2, 2026 on a $1500.00 bond.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Boyd was booked for active Contempt of Court warrants.  Dorsey remains in jail at the time of this release being held on a $226,500.00 bond.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

RADE Agents say their investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are possible.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

The Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit is a multi-jurisdictional team comprised of the Alexandria Police Department, Ball Police Department, Boyce Police Department, Cheneyville Police Department, Forest Hill Police Department, Glenmora Police Department, Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office Lecompte Police Department, McNary Police Department, Pineville Police Department, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, Woodworth Police Department, Grant Parish District Attorney’s Office, Rapides Parish District Attorney’s Office, Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole and the FBI SAFE STREETS TASK FORCE.<\/p>\r\n

At approximately 8 PM on July 6, 2026,  Sheriff‘s Office Dispatch received a call a possible shots fired in the area of Sabina Drive in the Kelley Land subdivision.<\/p>\r\n

Upon Deputy‘s arrival, no suspects were located and no injuries were reported.  However, a vehicle was located with a bullet hole in it.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Sheriff’s Detectives and Crime Scene Unit have responded to conduct their investigation, collect evidence, and interview witnesses.<\/p>\r\n

On July 4, 2026 at approximately 4:34 PM, Patrol Deputies responded to the 5400 block of Hall Street in the Grundy Cooper Subdivision in Alexandria in reference to a report of a shots fired in the area.    <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Upon arrival, deputies located a male subject laying in the driveway of a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Pafford Ambulance Service responded and transported the subject to a local hospital.  Deputies also learned there was another male subject  who had also sustained gunshot wounds, later identified as Kendrick Dotson.  Dotson was brought to the hospital by a neighbor prior to Deputies arrival but, unfortunately, Dotson later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.  The other subject remains in the hospital at the time of this release, listed in stable condition.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Sheriff's Detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to conduct their investigation.  During their investigation, Detectives determined two female subjects, identified as Samauria Norris and Lakeisha Roberts, came to the residence at 5406 Hall Street and a verbal disturbance occurred with Dotson.  Shortly thereafter, the other male subject arrived on the scene and gunfire erupted between the two males.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Based on their investigation, Sheriff's Detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause to issue arrest warrants for Norris and Roberts.  Later on that night, Norris and Roberts were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on their warrants.<\/p>\r\n

Norris remains in jail being held on a $1,200,00.00 bond and Roberts remains in jail being held on a $1,100,000.00 bond.<\/p>\r\n

At approximately 11:10 AM, Patrol Deputies responded to a report of a medical emergency at a residence in the 1400 block of Bayou Maria Road in Pineville.  Upon arrival, Deputies located a deceased male subject and cause of death is unknown at this time.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Sheriff’s Detectives and Crime Scene Unit have responded to conduct their investigation.  As soon as the scene is clear, the remains of the deceased will be turned over to the Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office, pending autopsy and toxicology results.<\/p>\r\n

At approximately 5 PM<\/span>, Patrol Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 5000 block of Hall Street in the Grundy Cooper Subdivision. 

Initial information indicates there were two victims suffering gunshot wounds. \ufffcOne victim was transported to a local hospital by Pafford Ambulance Service and the other victim was transported by a civilian. Condition of the victims is unknown at this time. \ufffc

Currently, Sheriff‘s Detective’s and Crime Scene Unit are on scene collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. 

Detectives say there is no threat to the public at this time.

On June 29, 2026 at approximately 10:15 pm, Patrol Deputies responded to a call for assistance from the Lecompte Police Department in reference to a shooting that occurred in their jurisdiction.  According to initial information, a victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest  and had been transported to a local hospital for treatment.  <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Sheriff’s Detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to begin their investigation, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

During the investigation, it was learned that a suspect, identified as Angelo Girtley, was in an altercation with the victim and allegedly shot them and fled the scene.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

With the assistance of the Lecompte Police Department, Sheriff’s Detectives obtained warrants for Girltey’s arrest for Attempted 2nd<\/sup> Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

On July 2, 2026, Sheriff’s Detectives located Girtley and he was taken into custody without incident, placed under arrest for the active warrants and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked.  Girtley remains in jail at the time of this release, being held on a $1,100,000.00 bond.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The victim is currently at a local hospital listed in stable condition. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Everyone likes fireworks, especially now as the celebration of our great country’s 250th anniversary <\/sup>is here.  However, what can be fun for some, can be viewed as a nuisance to others and we need to keep that in mind before we use fireworks.<\/p>\r\n

We get complaints at this time every year in reference to the use of fireworks disturbing someone's peace.  We answer these calls, usually first with a warning and then if we are called back, a citation may be issued.  If the perpetrator is a juvenile, the parents may be cited.<\/p>\r\n

Here are some things to remember about the use of fireworks as the parish ordinance applies:<\/p>\r\n

·         fireworks are prohibited<\/strong> within 25 yards of a public road in the parish<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

·         fireworks are prohibited <\/strong>within 50 yards of any church or schoolhouse in the parish<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

·         fireworks are prohibited WITHIN ANY residential subdivision<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

·         fireworks are also prohibited <\/strong>within 50 yards of a church or  school<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

·         please check with your local laws if you live INSIDE the incorporated areas or city limits<\/p>\r\n

We know shooting fireworks is a great Fourth of July tradition for young and old alike.  But, please take into consideration a few things before you launch that first rocket or light that first firecracker.           <\/p>\r\n

·         Safety first.  Even though it has been a wet these last few weeks,  it is a good idea to keep a water hose or fire extinguisher close in the event a fire breaks out.  <\/p>\r\n

·         Second - please be considerate of others in the use of fireworks.  If it disturbs someone else, it is against the law<\/strong>.  <\/p>\r\n

And lastly, please remember the use of fireworks may be a \"trigger\" for some of our veterans who are suffering with PTS and may also cause pets severe distress.<\/p>\r\n

In early June of 2026, the Rapides Parish Sherriff’s Office received a complaint regarding allegations of criminal sexual conduct involving a juvenile.  Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division immediately began their investigation into the complaint.<\/p>\r\n

During their investigation, Detectives were able to establish sufficient evidence that supported the original allegations and a suspect was identified as Keith Ryan Moss, 29 of Pineville, LA. <\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

From their investigation, Detectives were able to established probable cause to obtain warrants on Moss for two counts carnal knowledge of a juvenile and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile.  On June 26, 2026, after a brief foot pursuit, Moss was taken into custody without incident by a Patrol Sgt. assigned to the Resident Deputy Program and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on the active warrants.  Moss remains in jail at the time of this release being held on a $250,000.00 bond.<\/p>\r\n

At approximately 4:15 PM<\/span>, Sheriffs Office Dispatch was notified of a body located near a gravel pit off of St. Clair Road near Kendall Lane in the Cotile Community. 

Upon arrival, deputies located the remains of a deceased white male subject. 

Sheriff’s Detectives and Crime Scene Unit have responded and are on scene to conduct their investigation. 

As soon as the scene is clear, the remains will be turned over to the Rapides Parish Coroners Office.

In early June of 2026, the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit received community information that a subject identified as Terry Hobbs, 41 of Alexandria, was allegedly selling powder cocaine from his residence in the 2900 block of Jackson Street.  The information was assigned to a RADE Agent and an investigation was initiated. <\/p>\r\n

The investigation lasted several weeks and through multiple investigative techniques, the original allegations were found to be credible.  Once confirmed, an arrest warrant for Hobbs for two counts of Distribution of CDS II (powder cocaine) was secured and a search warrant for 2931 Jackson St. was obtained. <\/p>\r\n

On June 24th<\/sup>, 2026, Rapides Parish K-9 Deputies assigned to RADE conducted a traffic stop on Hobbs and took him into custody without incident.  Shortly after, additional RADE Agents executed the search warrant at Hobbs’ residence where his wife and minor child were present.  A search of the residence revealed approximately 2.5 ounces of powder cocaine, 5 Marijuana plants, an AR style pistol, assorted Xanax and Hydrocodone pills and various items of drug paraphernalia.  A total of $1790 in U.S. currency was also recovered from inside the house, believed to be associated with the selling of narcotics.<\/p>\r\n

Hobbs was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was booked for the two Distribution of CDS II (powder cocaine) warrants, Possession of CDS II (powder cocaine) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS II (hydrocodone) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS IV (Xanax) with Intent to Distribute, Manufacture of CDS I (marijuana), Illegal Carry of a Firearm with Drugs, Possession of CDS in the presence of a Minor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. <\/p>\r\n

Hobbs remains in jail at the time of this release, being held on a &71,000.00 bond.  Hobbs was also issued Civil Asset Forfeiture paperwork for the seized U.S. currency.  <\/p>\r\n

On May 13, 2026, Sheriff’s Detectives assigned to Kolin Substation received a report from a local business in Pineville regarding an alleged theft involving a former employee, identified as Molly Goynes, 35 of Deville, LA.<\/p>\r\n

According to the initial report, the alleged theft occurred over a three year timespan and a large amount of money was allegedly taken.  Sheriff’s Detectives began their investigation which included researching bank documents, computer programs and other forms of records held by the business.  During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered evidence that supported the initial allegations.  From their investigation, detectives were able to determine between 2023 and 2026, more than $450,000.00 was unlawfully taken from the business.<\/p>\r\n

Based on the evidence obtained during the investigation, Sheriff’s Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Goynes for one count Theft Over $25,000 and one count Obstruction of Justice - Evidence Tampering.<\/p>\r\n

On June 5, 2026, Goynes voluntarily reported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and turned herself in to Detectives.  Goynes was placed under arrest on the outstanding warrants and booked on the charges.   Goynes was later released on a $10,000.00 bond.<\/p>\r\n

In late April of 2026, agents with the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit began receiving multiple community complaints in reference to individuals living in the 1700 block of Thornton Court, Alexandria, LA,  allegedly selling narcotics out of a residence.  RADE Agents were very familiar with this address as they have served multiple search warrants at this residence in the past from prior investigations.<\/p>\r\n

RADE has previously arrested suspects living at this residence, including Craig Brown who is currently serving time for drug trafficking.  In the last few years, RADE has seized over 8 pounds of Fentanyl, over 4 pounds of Methamphetamines, Marijuana, multiple firearms, and a variety of drug paraphernalia from this address and from traffic stops related to investigations involving this address.<\/p>\r\n

Agents began their investigation into the anonymous community complaints and through surveillance techniques and investigative means, they identified Diante Brown as the main suspect.  An arrest warrant for Diante Brown for Distribution of CDS II (Fentanyl) was obtained and a search warrant for 1735 Thornton Court was also secured.<\/p>\r\n

On May 20th<\/sup>, 2026, RADE Agents, with the assistance of the Alexandria Police Department Special Response Team, executed the search warrant at 1735 Thornton Court where Diante Brown was taken into custody without incident on the active distribution warrant.  Agents also conducted a search of the residence where 11 plastic bags, all containing suspected Fentanyl, were located along with multiple digital scales and other items of paraphernalia.  The total weight of the suspected fentanyl weighed approximately 1.5 pounds.  Brown also possessed over $2000.00 in assorted U.S. currency. <\/p>\r\n

Diante Brown was placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center-1 for the active distribution warrant, Possession of CDS II (Fentanyl) with Intent to Distribute and possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Brown was issued Civil Asset Forfeiture paperwork for the seized cash. <\/p>\r\n

Diante Brown remains in jail at the time of this release, being held on a $1,000,500.00 bond. <\/p>\r\n

Agents say their investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are possible.<\/p>\r\n
